Art, Architecture, Classics, Charcoal…
As a multidisciplinary artist from the Bay Area, California, my artwork draws inspiration from Classical mythology and history, architecture, and from interactions around me. I graduated from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, ME in 2024, and am pursuing a Master of Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Combining my BA studies in Classics and Visual Arts, I draw inspiration from artists like Caravaggio and Bernini. Charcoal has become a love of mine, providing both potential for realism and expressionism that I search for in my drawings. Most of my charcoal drawings feature family members, both because of my strong familial bonds and because our heritage makes for the kind of visual I seek. Our roots in the Mediterranean and Eastern Europe mean that this region’s history is an intrinsic part of our family’s spirit, and I hope to express the weight of this history in some of my pieces and in future designs.
My work has been featured in two volumes of the Oakland Arts Review and in the de Young Museum of Fine Arts’ open call in 2023, as well as in several Bowdoin College art exhibits.
